On Monday, July 30, in advance of the MLS All-Star Game, Continental partnered with MLS’ ExtraTime Radio and Soccer in the Streets to host a pick up soccer game with 150 players at Five Points Marta Station, the new home of Urban Soccer in Atlanta. This field is the world’s first soccer field in a train station providing easy access to playing facilities for youth players in and around the city of Atlanta.
Soccer in the Streets is an organization that empowers underserved youth through soccer training, character development, mentoring, and employability programs. By serving in a holistic and comprehensive way, Soccer in the Streets reaches kids on the field, in small-group classroom sessions, through hands-on experiences and activities, and participation in youth leadership councils.
The donation made by Continental to Soccer in the Streets will help fund an entire team for one year, allowing Atlanta youth continued opportunities to play the great game of soccer that Continental continues to support through partnerships with Major League Soccer and the U.S. National Men’s and Women’s teams.
