What do you get when you take two actors to Willow Springs with an Audi and a Ford Boss 302 Mustang? A whole lot of fun!
You may recognize Verne Troyer from his iconic role as “Mini-me” in the hit comedies Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me and Austin Powers in Goldmember. In his new web series, “One Size Fits All”, Verne lets us in to his world and takes us on adventures that are sure to leave you speechless. Friend and fellow actor, Erik Valdez (Carlito Solano on the hit TV show, Graceland), invited Verne to Willow Springs for a day of driving instruction that turned in to a two-part series, saw the making of some donuts, and saw only one cone go down.
In part one, Verne took his turn behind the wheel of an Audi. As a former driving instructor and racer in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, Erik had plenty of tips for Verne. After a few “Sunday drive” laps, Verne put his elbows up (as we say in racing) and clocked a solid lap for his first lesson. When Erik called us asking for the right tire to take to Willow Springs for his Mustang, we knew the ContiSportContact 5P, with its responsive handling and excellent braking performance, was the right tire for the job. Moving into part two, Erik took his turn behind the wheel while Verne rode…with a bit of nerves… in the passenger seat. Erik navigated his Ford Boss 302 Mustang on Continental tires around the course sliding sideways and putting the pedal to the metal. Looking a little shaky after a couple laps and some donuts, Verne kept a smile on his face but declined Erik’s invitation to race in the Rolex 24 with him.
