Rated 3 out of 5 by from Noisy but great turning response I had a set of Continental DWS UHP tires on my Mazda three. One was ruined in a pothole. The store said that these Control Contact Sport A/S were very similar. They replaced 2 tires. The old DWS are not very noisy while the newer Conrol Contact Sport A/S are noisier than any other tire I can remember. They seem to make more noise at low speeds than high ones. Some people may not be bothered by the noise but I don't like it. I would select are tire with less performance that was quieter. I can say that for cornering if you turn the wheel fast the tires respond better than any other tire I have used...that part is super fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good ride and handling I replaced the stock Michelins on my 2012 Genesis with these tires on a trip to Colorado because of damage to one of the original tires. Let me emphasise that these tires are NOT noisy! Driving through Nebraska at 75-80 miles an hour with no more noise than the MIchelins. These tire have a good ride quality and handling, and provide a more aggresive tread pattern than the orighinal tires (one of the things I wanted with replacement tires). I'm waiting for winter to evaluate the snow traction ability of these tires.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not really an all season tire. I have a set of these on my Crown Vic. I live in Denver, CO and was told by the salesman that they would be a good replacement for the all-season tires that needed to be replaced. I bought the car used and was able to get two seasons out of the the tire I had. Dry and wet (rain) conditions with the Contact Sports and the tires are great. If there is just a bit of snow, my car is all over the place. Two inches of snow and I could barley make it up a slight incline (I mean slight) up to my kids school. Barley touch the pedal and they just spin (the car is stock). I know it is a rear wheel drive, but c'mon. I basically do not have an all season tire and wish I had not bought these. Should have went with the something a little more aggressive, but wanted an all season. Now I have to get a set of 'winter tires' just to make it through a little snow. Lesson learned.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just an OK tire Discount Tire's Continental ControlContact Sport A/S IS NOT EVEN CLOSE to Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 in performance on wet and dry roads. I just had a set of ExtremeContact DWS tires replace under the tread wear warranty (which is great). Discount Tire replaced them with their exclusive ControlContact Sport A/S tires. On my drive home I know there was something wrong. The care drove like the tires had little ball bearings against the pavement. It had a "squirmy" feeling that did not inspire driving confidence. Discount Tire (great company that it is) replaced them with Continental's ExtremeContact DWS06 upon my request. My car ('04 330Ci) is back to being a sports car again. Fantastic wet road performance. Both tires are quiet an have Continental on their sidewalls but the similarity ends there. The ControlContact tire is more of a touring tire while the ExtremeContact DWS06 is a high performance tire.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not happy with these tires I just read a review from Billy with a Subaru and I can ditto just about everything he said with my '06 VW Passat 3.6 fwd. I, too, was told that the tire was a replacement for the DWS, which they said was discontinued. The OE Michelins, even though they only had 36K miles on them, had started to dry rot and were scary in the wet and snow. I'll grant Continental this: absolutely unflappable in the wet and snow, but the tires are brutally noisy in my car at highway speed, particularly on GA. and FL. highways with their irregular asphalt. And even at lower speeds (35~40) they are loud. The Michelins had given me a consistent 30.5mpg hwy per the car's computer. That immediately dropped to an even 28mpg with the Control Contacts. I've put only about 7K miles on them. I actually asked my VW dealer to check the bushings in the front to see if they were still viable, which they were. Very disappointed with these skins. As a retiree near 70 years old, I can't afford to replace them with a tire better matched to my older driving style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding tire! I put these on my 2013 Nissan Altima. Almost went with a touring tire but decided on these because of the V6. Great tire for the spirited driving and commuting I do. This tire is great at resisting hydroplaning and even got me home safely in light snow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance to price ratio These had much better than expected snow traction while giving close to the performance of a standalone summer tire when it comes to acceleration and cornering. I'm very happy with the performance so far based on what I paid for these tires.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Tires After carefully researching I bought these tires at Discount Tires. They have exceeded my expectations. Continentals have outstanding ride comfort for a 245/45 19. Would highly recommend to those who value a smooth ride with good handling.
