Throughout the month of September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we partnered with Major League Soccer to Kick Childhood Cancer, an MLS Works initiative. With your support, we raised some incredible funding and awareness for the Children’s Oncology group.
We asked for you to share Messages of Hope on Twitter for those children currently fighting cancer and you came through in a big way. Not only did you help us raise a $50,000 donation, but the messages will also be made into customized scarves distributed to pediatric cancer patients in December. We are honored to deliver these messages on your behalf and hope to inspire those patients just as they have inspired us.
The MLS Clubs across the country also delivered Care Kits to pediatric cancer patients in their respective markets during the month. Several pediatric cancer patients and their families, as well as front-line hospital workers, received free sets of tires. The travel to and from treatments is not always top of mind for families, but with how many miles they put on their tires, the free tires were a welcome surprise!
