Greg Biffle will represent Continental Tire at the renowned Gold Coast 600 event as the Stadium Super Trucks (SST) head down under to Australia.
Biffle made four starts in the Continental Truck - which run on the TerrainContact A/T - this year and took home a podium finish twice. Though a SST victory has alluded him in 2019, he aims to earn a spot on the top step of the podium in Australia. He’ll have three opportunities to do so during the weekend.
“I’m really excited about racing in Australia,” offered Biffle. “I’m looking forward to seeing the race track and of course I would love to win one of the three races! The truck is fitted with Continental Tire’s TerrainContact A/T which is an awesome tire and gives me a bit of an advantage. Hopefully they’ll help me go even faster!”
The event will mark perhaps the longest journey Biffle has taken to compete in a race, and between the 20-hour flight and the jet lag, the trip can take a toll on both the body and mind. Biffle will head over a few days early to make sure he is in prime condition for the event.
“I’m going to head over a few days early to check out the Gold Coast and Australia which will give me some time to adjust,” said Biffle. “I’m really excited because this is my first time to Australia so not only will I get to see the sights of the country but by race day I should be rested up and ready to go.”
When given the opportunity to race as part of the Gold Coast 600 event weekend, Biffle jumped at the chance.
“Robby (Gordon) has created one of, if not the most, entertaining and exciting motorsport categories in the world and since first racing in the SST series in August last year at Road America I’ve just loved every minute of driving them,” said Biffle. “When Robby confirmed that the SST’s were heading back to Australia to race alongside a series like the Virgin Australia Supercars on the streets of Surfers Paradise I just had to be involved.”
Also racing on the TerrainContact A/T tire in Australia is Bill Hynes who will be doing an Instagram take-over on Continental Tire's Instagram. Be sure to head over and check out the event through the eyes of "Bill the Thrill"!
The Gold Coast 600 event takes place October 25-28 with all Boost Mobile Super Trucks Races to be broadcast LIVE on FOX Sports.
