Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Tires Bought these tires about a month ago. I live in CT where we get some snow annually but I knew I was going to need some winters for the few times I venture up to VT for ski trips. Boy, am I glad I got these tires! Vermont got about 3 feet of snow in the 4 days I was up in the mountains and these tires kept me on the road and in control. They're predictable, dependable and they were able to find traction with over 6 inches of snow blanketing the roads and very little plowing along VT-30 and select back roads around Stratton. I cannot yet comment on how well they wear, but I can mention that they ride pretty smoothly on dry tarmac, perhaps only a tiny but louder than my all-seasons. Would highly reccomend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Confidence Inspiring Winter Tires I've had my WinterContact SI's on my 2018 Subaru WRX for about 2500 miles now and while I've only driven them in temps between 20-60F but only a slight dusting of snow I can say these tires are surprisingly grippy and decent in corning. Of other snow tires I've over over the years these are loud but most M+S are and there is increased breaking in warmer temps. Despite this I'm looking forward to using this in snow and given the light dusting I drove through recently without so much as a consideration for grip concerns I believe they will be a solid performer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great on brakes, so so while under power I live in south west PA and drive a Subaru and we have had a generally mild winter. The tires are quiet during dry conditions and work excellent under braking regardless of the road conditions. I am not sold 100% on the traction capabilities though in snow and wet conditions. I climb a mountain daily on my commute and on days where the road was beginning to be covered with snow, I would lose traction fairly easily mostly on curves for my car being AWD with new Snow Tires. Also on slower tight curves the car would push straight ahead very easily rather than complete the turn. I have run the Pure Contact tires and in my opinion they are every bit as good as the WinterContact in terms of winter use and you get the benefit of an all season tire.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent winter traction I do a lot of winter driving, between a 60 mile round trip daily commute and skiing up north most weekends. I am entering my 3rd winter season on WinterContact SI tires. They are 205/50/17 on a 2015 VW GTI with the performance package ltd slip differential. I feel like this car with these tires gives up little in most winter driving conditions compared to AWD. Seriously. Note: most 17s won't clear the PP pack GTI front brakes (same issue with Golf R). Be careful if you try to emulate this setup. Make sure the offset works, as well as how the wheel weights are installed. Anyway, these are excellent snow tires. I chose them based on my prior excellent experience with Continental DWS all -seasons on a Mazda3 and will probably buy another set after this season.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome for deep snow I have these tires on my wife's 2004 BMW 330xi, we received about 2 feet of snow within a 2 day period that plows could not keep up with. Her car had no problem plowing through the snow even though in was halfway up her bumper. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 star rating is because they could be a little better are packed snow/ ice. We had Blizzaks on the car previously and they handled a little better in those conditions, but they also wore out within 3 seasons and were more expensive than the continental.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Snow Tire for the Money These winters were great last year. I got through a couple terrible snow storms and was able to drive around several people on cr@ppy rubber with ease. My only complaint is that I have to suffer for those not prepared for the elements during winter. The WinterContacts are sure footed and predictable in cold, snowy and icy conditions. I was also impressed in the cold/dry conditions. they arent as floppy and soft as Blizzaks I've owned in the past. I will def recommend these and would buy again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Winter Tire Purchased the WinterContact SI for our Kia Sorento in November as the forecasting was for an El Nino winter here in SW Colorado. What a great year to buy new winter snow tires! One of the snowiest winters on record. Well over 300 inches at our local ski area which we go to every weekend. We traveled over the worst mountain passes Colorado has to offer on a few occasions. Red Mountain Pass on Presidents Day in a blizzard. Tires were very confidence inspiring. Great performance on dry and wet roads as well. Commend the design as they are quiet on dry roads which is a real plus. Highly recommend these. I have had two sets of high end studless winter tires (you know the ones) on different vehicles and can say they are every bit as good if not better because of the better dry road manners and quieter ride.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tire! I bought these last year as a stud-less winter tire because the road conditions and weather are unpredictable anymore in the Northeast U.S. So far, these tires have performed exceptionally well, especially in the early mornings, when a driver has to deal with over-night frozen slush that tends to feel like driving on the moon. And don't even get me started on the edges of the roads. Thank you for a tire that handles the second-world roads in the north-central part of PA!
